organizing & SURPRISES!!

So lets start with how my organizing projects are going... I have 3 of 5 closets done!! YES!!! This was a big project...my closet!! But I got it all done:

go through clothes..check
go through purses & bags..check
go through hair product & make-up and lotions..check
go through shoes..check

Next on the list... Reesie's playroom...which I am almost done with!! I went to Ikea this passed Thursday...I was a girl with a list on a mission!! I got some really cool bins for her shelves and some fun wall bins for her art supplies...(this is one of my obsessions.. her playroom..trying to keep it organized and looking nice!)

After I'm done with Reese's playroom..its onto my scrapbooking loft and Reese's closet..wish me luck:).

Now for the surprises:

This passed Friday my Brother called and told me that he sold a car to a lady that lives up in Canton, Ohio and that him and dad are going to drive it up to her. But they wanted to surprise mom..so we kept it a secret! Saturday around 12:30 my dad called my mom and asked her what her plans were for the day and if she wanted to go for a ride up to Canton! She was so excited to see my dad and brother! It was such an awesome early valentine's day surprise:) They got to spend Sunday with us and then left today.
So today is valentine's day and my hubby surprised me with a kindle...I love it!! He also surprised Reese with a heart shaped box of reese cups (she says that they are her favorite!!) and a movie:) We had a wonderful low key valentine's day!!

So this past Sunday we had Reese's toy story birthday party ..first of all I was very proud of myself for finishing all my projects I wanted to make for her party:

I know I'm crazy..but I LOVE doing it! If I could find away to do this for a side job I would totally do it! Reese was so cute when I was making the stuff..she kept saying "oh mommy..I love it..it's beautiful..thank you so much (big hug)!! Well the party was a success..this year we decide to have just one party (last year we had a friend party and family dinner party) we rented out our club house and I have too say it was wonderful having it there! Everyone seemed to have a good time and Reese got a lot of nice presents..she is one very loved little girl:) I have to say a special thanks to Jerry, My Mom and Cindy...for helping my out with the party and taking pictures..you guys are the best:) I will post pictures soon

Three years ago today Brian and I were blessed with a beautiful & amazing little girl! Its hard to believe Reese is three..time does really fly by!! We love you very much Reesie Cup!! You mean the world to us!!

ok ok ok ok...I know i missed last Sunday's post but I was out of town! We went to Baltimore....Brian had a two day work meeting down there and we also visited Mike & Julie (Brian's brother & sister-n-law) We were there Friday through Wednesday.. We has such a great time!! The girls..Ana & Olivia (our nieces) were so excited to see Reese!! It was so much fun watching Reese with them... she was all about mimicking the big girls ....they are 7 and 5. On Wednesday thank god Brian decided to skip his meeting and get on the road because of the weather!! It was terrible in Virgina & Pennsylvania...the roads were horrible in the mountains.. Some Semi's and smaller cars with back wheel drive were having troubles on the road but thank god my car did awesome in it:) It took us about 10 hours to get home instead of 6 1/2 hours..but we got home and SAFE!! I took pictures but I took them on my phone so i don't think I can put them on here..but they are on my facebook page.
My Mom has decided to move in with us (until her and my dad decided on a place)..the commute to work from our house is a lot quicker then my grandmas..plus I think she is more relaxed here then my grandmas..to much drama going on with my Aunts and grandma. Reese loves having mama here all the time too!
So my to "do list" is well on its way of getting done..I have concurred 2 out 5 closets. Brian has been working very hard on the garage (has much has can be done in this cold weather)..he got for christmas some gladiator organizing stuff for the garage..and started hanging it up..it looks really nice..i should have taken before and after pics! I have lost 3 out of 10 pounds I want to loose:)
I have been very busy working on Reesie's b-day stuff...she is so excited for her toy story birthday party:)
I got my new business cards and logo done for the salon..so excited! Next on the list..putting the salon on facebook and getting my new software for my computer..watch out the salon is getting techy:)

So just I has promised...i am going to be a better blogger!! So this is the first of many of my Sunday weekly updates!!

Monday: I had to take my grandma to the eye doctor..she has Macular Degeneration..but the doctor has slowed down the process of it though with treatment shots...so she can still see some what. Today was also the first day of Brian's on call..he is on call Monday to Monday..so it is always an interesting week around here when he is on call! Plus he also had to work Monday - Thursday at night too which is always hard on all of us by the end of the week!
Tuesday: I was supposed to work today but when the snow started to fall my clients started calling to cancel their appointments...so I decided this would be a perfect day to start on that organizing list of mine..so the first thing on my list...The Pantry!! It was time to threw away the junk..So when I was done I went to the grocery store and stock up on some health treats!! (working on losing my 10 pounds!)
Wednesday: After work today I came home and started working on Reesie's b-day stuff...this year she told me she wants a "Toy Story" birthday party..So I was so excited to use my new Toy Story cricut cartridge!
Thursday: Did the work thing this morning then came home and start working on Reese's closet..I got everything out of it and started to go thru things and then Reese came in and wanted to help which meant this project was going to take me longer to do then just a couple of hours!! Later on we had Reese's "We Joy Sing" music class ..which she loves!!

Friday: Once again I worked this morning..Reese was so excited when I got home....she came running up to me saying "mommy mommy I want to make that" she pointed to the T.V ..Nick Jr. was on and they were showing how to make Zee and Mousse little pillows. So I got on Nick Jr's website and downloaded the instructions..they seemed pretty easy to make..so I told her we would go to the store to get the stuff to make them. She was so excited!! here is the finished product
Saturday: I worked in the morning then I went with Cindy to do some shopping for a very special dress...we had so much fun:) Then I came home and worked on more of Reesie's b-day stuff..then it was time to RELAXED and watched Despicable Me..such a cute movie
Sunday: We just relaxed the first part of the day... then My Mom, Dad, Grandma & Vivian came over to go to dinner to celebrate an early birthday for Reese. My Dad won't be here for Reese's Birthday and Vivian will be recovering from knee surgery so we decide to celebrate a little bit early:)

New Year...New Goals!!

So we had a very very busy December from hosting a cookie swap to family gatherings to Christmas shopping, working on Christmas projects and having a ugly Christmas sweater new years eve party I am exhausted!! ..I think i am done hosting for awhile (except for Reesie's B-day party..which is coming up very soon!) So I guess there is no time for resting! That's ok...I am not very good at sitting still anyways!! So I have decided that I need to set some goals and stick to them for the new year (well try my very best at least!)
My List:

learn to be more techy now that I have my new pink laptop that my wonderful hubby got me for Christmas! please note: I changed my blog background all by myself..huge for me;)
Be a better blogger..my goal is to do a Sunday night weekly update ( I am going to try to really stick to this!) and blog any important events too:)
ORGANIZE: all the closets in the house, garage (a hubby and I project!), scrapbooking room (got some new things for organizing for Christmas), and Reesie's toys (now Christmas is over and Birthday is just around the corner it's time to go threw the toys!)
lose 10 pounds!!
paint the living room
buy the curtains I want for the living room
this a two in one: my mom is making my curtains for the kitchen and dining room and teaching me how to do some basic sewing (Cindy you can come to mom's class too) :)
organizing all my photos..on the computer and go through all the boxes of pictures I have!!
do some updating to my salon: touch up painting, buy some new tables at ikea and hang up my shelves and some new art work on the walls...most important getting computerized all clients information and scheduling are going to be done on the computer now!! also thinking about starting to except credit cards and making a facebook account for the salon!
finishing Reesie's baby book and all of my other unfinished scrapbooking projects!! (or at least most of them!!)
Completing this list before next year!!...better get started now!! :)

ok so I know..I know!!
ok ...Where to begin.......I will start with the most recent!
1. we got a new car...i love it!!! its a Nissan Rogue:)
2.The holidays are coming up...so EXCITED!! Trying to make Mrs.Claus's purse bigger!!
3. working on holiday crafts and trying to do a little scrappin too!! (hopefully when i leave in a couple of weeks for indy i can finish my friends wedding book)
4.Reese was sick for trick or treat:( but she felt better on the weekend so we went to hocking hills campgrounds. some family friends of ours were there camping there so we went down for the day! it was so much fun!! they decorate the sites and the kids get to trick or treat! Reese was a pirate:) my camera broke when it was time to take pictures of her in her pirate costume..but thank god for camera phones:)
5. BIG NEWS!!! my mom got a job here in Ohio with a company she used to work for! She has been working for 2 weeks now and loving it!! She is staying with my grandma for now..my grandma is going blind so my mom is helping out for now. My dad is still N.C..he his job driving cars to dealerships and loving it!! The plan is (for now) that he will come up for week each month to be with my mom and us and then go back down. My brother is living with him so at least he isn't alone:)
6. the middle of October we went to N.C to the smokey mountains with my mom,dad, Donna and Gary and stayed in this beautiful cabin and rode the great smokey mountain train. Reese LOVED it!! the fall colors were so beautiful!!
7. the beginning of October we went with Brian's family to the hocking hills to a cabin..it was a lot of too!
8. now on to November......

we have been so busy the last couple of weeks...couple of weeks ago one of my dearest friends from high school Lexy was getting married and i was her MOH (matron of honor)!! we drove up to Rhode Island (that is were she lives & were the wedding was) on Wednesday and got in around 12:30 am. On Thursday we went to the beach and then later that night Lexy's step sister had us all over for dinner at their beach house (so beautiful)...the dinner was amazing..did mention that her sister is a chef:) Reese had so much fun playing with Alice's (step sister) little boy Sam..they were so cute, watching them play together. Friday was rehearsal day and Saturday was the wedding!! Lexy and Larry and a beautiful wedding..i am so happy for them:) We came home on Sunday!! Then last weekend my friends Gini and her Family and Wendy and her family went camping with us to Long's retreat....so MUCH fun!! We came home Sunday and crashed!!lexy & me:)

Reese had her last soccer class last night..she loved going and kicking the ball and playing with the cones. Brian and I are so proud of her, she started to really come out of her shell ..we notice BIG changes the passed 9weeks why she was in soccer! She didn't shy up to Coach Chris, she played and talked to other kids, and she would go out onto the field by yourself and play without Brian or I holding her hand and walking out! YAY!! Reesie Cup:)

so I just love the 4th of July...its my second favorite holiday (first is Christmas of course)!! Today Reesie and I are going to make her 4th of July t-shirt (post pics of it when done)..it is something i am going to do with her every 4th. Then later we are going to go to the clippers game w/ Cindy & the Family..very excited about that..I haven't been yet to a game at the new stadium!

I KNOW...it has been forever since i have been on here again!!! So i will try to catch everyone up...first of all Disney was great!! We had such a blast..Reese loved it!! Since Disney we have been just enjoying the summer..we have been to the zoo many times to see the polar bears (thank god for season passes!), Reese is playing soccer Wednesday nights (they just play games to learn soccer), been to the pool and this past weekend up to lake Erie..we had so much fun!!! On Saturday we went to Put in Bay for the pirates festival..Reese loved it! then we cam back and rested for awhile..then went to prehistoric forest..it is a landmark up there that is getting ready to shut its doors forever after this summer:( after that it was time for dinner and a little putt putt! We had so much fun!! This morning we woke up and went to the beach for bit before we headed home!! Now back at home relaxing:)

ok..so i know once again it is been fooooorrrrreeeevvvveeerrr since i blogged! but i will say it again..i am not good at doing this!! ok..so were do i begin...i will start with the newest of news..we are going to Disney in 33 more days..and we can't wait!!! Reese is so excited to see Snowing (Snow White her favorite princess) and Pop (Mary Poppins) and eat pancakes with them!! Thanks to Tasha :) I can't stay off etsy.com buying Disney hair clippies, and some cute personalized Disney t-shirts and an adorable cute travel bag..post pics of them later. Second I am in my friend Alexis's wedding in July in R.I..i am having a shower here in Ohio on April 17th..very excited for it..i have been busy with getting things and make invitations for it and next i will be starting her wedding invites. Third: I have also been very busy re-doing my parents wedding album for their 40th wedding anniversary on May 16th..i am so so excited about giving it to them! My parents are coming up for their anniversary and we are going out to dinner..so i will give it to them then..i am also having their wedding cake re-made (just the first 2 tiers) so so excited to see their faces! Fourth: Brian's cousin Brant is getting married in May and they have asked Reese to be the flower girl (this should be interesting!!) its the summer of weddings:) So my "to do list" keeps growing:)

I know trick or treat is a week away but.. I thought since it is a beautiful day that I would take some pics of Reese in her Jessie costume. She loves this costume, I tried to get her to wear one of the Disney princess but no go! I definitely have a little tom boy on my hands (which is fine, believe it or not I was too..no dresses just give me my jeans!) I tried to get her to hold her Woody, Jessie and Bulls-eye dolls but she wanted to hold the black cat..oh well:)

YES I AM ALIVE!! I know it has been awhile once again since I have been on here...but life got a little crazy for us with the move and all! But we are all moved in and getting settled. This past weekend my parents and my brother came for a visit..we were suppose to go to Cedar Point on Sunday but decided to pass because it was going to be cold up there so instead we went to Circle S farms and had a great time. Reese was so cute this year there..last year when we went she was only 8 months old she had a good time but this year she was everywhere and loved it..especially the barn with the hay and slides!! Here are some pics of our fun day (the slide ones didn't turn out so well) I have this same picture of Reese and I last year...wow how much she has grown!!last year when she stood next to this she was around the 2 markshe loves to drive the tractor!!she searched for the right pumpkin:)

This weekend I was determined to get Reese's bedroom furniture all painted..so I could cross it off my "to do" list. Brian and I went and got the paint on Friday..Saturday morning I got up early and went and got Jerry around 9:30..he offered to help me paint because Brian was going down to the new house to lay sod with Chris. We got started on the painting around 10:30 and painted all stinking day until about 8pm...let me tell you what a job this has turned out to be..we primed the furniture first (that took about 2 coats) then we painted it which took about 3 coats! We got the dresser,night stand,and this little stand that sits on the dresser that holds the mirror and the head board done...and I have to say they look great!! I still have the foot board, the mirror and all the rails for the canopy still to do!! ugh!! Sunday we had a birthday party to go to at 11:30..we didn't get back home until 2:30p! I started to work on the furniture...but my back was killing me so I decided to stop for now! I will be very happy when it is all done and I can cross it off my list!! :)
My goal is to have it done by this coming weekend!! I will post pics of it soon :)

Warehouse or House???

I can't believe that less then 5 weeks we will be moving!! I have been so busy packing that our house is starting to look like a warehouse!!:) This move is a lot different from any other move we have ever done before because we are also moving a third person..and this little person has so much stuff! Plus its really interesting packing with her because you put stuff in a box and she takes it out..its become a game..and its is much fun to play..NOT!!:) But we are getting so excited about moving..the new house is looking great and we can't wait for all that room (I will post some pics next blog...need to take some new ones!) We will be busy painting and moving boxes starting September 8th (its also the day we close on the house) and on Saturday the 12th is the BIG move (yea I know its the BIG game of the year..but it is also a night game)! So I still have a lot to do...here's my list:

finish packing up the bathroom
and kitchen (its pretty much all packed except for things we still use)
and basement (is almost done)
paint Reese's bedroom furniture
plus every weekend from now to we move we have to work at the house on our "work equality" stuff

Needless to say the days I don't have to work I am packing..thank god its almost over..but then its time to unpack..ugh!!

The Ohio State Fair!!

This year I was so lucky that I got to go to the fair two days in a row!! But I forgot my camera the first day (I know that should have been the first thing in the car besides Reese and the stroller) but I remembered it the second day :) On Monday Reese and I and my friend Michael went..we had so much fun!! Reese had so much fun she loved loved loved the horses (she takes after me..when I was little I used to show horses with my dad) and she loved milking the cow..last year she was to little to really milk it!! Then on Tuesday morning I woke her up by saying "Reesie do you want to go back and see the horses?" She got up and went right to the back door still in her pj's and looked at me like "come on mommy lets go" it was so cute!!! That day we went with Jerry... we ate and ate some yummy fried food and tried a deep fried buckeye..I have to say it was ok. We went and saw the horses and the cows and goats and sheep again.... but this day she got to ride a horse and loved it!! She got to meet Smokey the Bear ...she kept saying "hi ..bear".. and blowing him kisses ..it was so cute!! The weather was great both days not too HOT..thank god!! I can't wait to go back next year with her!!!

The Hoover pumpkin patch

Last November when we were done with our pumpkins we threw them out back in the dog pin (which we don't use for the dogs..it was here before we moved in) for the squirrels to eat...little did we know that they would bury the seeds..and now we have our own pumpkin patch!! We are moving out the first part of September and the pumpkins will probably not be ready to pick so Vivian (who owns the house..we rent it..if you didn't know) said we could come back and pick them. There are probably going to be just 4 to 6 of them!!

So we are doing a little (little is understated) project here at the Hoover household! Brian's Aunt Tracy give us her old bedroom suit that she had when she was a little girl for Reesie for her new bedroom! It is a really nice bedroom suit..it has a full size bed that is a canopy and a full size dresser with a cute little mirror that goes on top and a night stand...there was just one problem with it..its color!!! The color is very out dated so we are going to paint it white..and what a job that is!! It well look really cute when it gets done. So I am hoping to have it done by next weekend!! Our friend Jerry has been helping us..what a good friend..we pay him back by food hehehe :) Here are some pics of the work in progress....will post the finished project when done!!

Well we have our scheduled "walk through" date for the house on August 31st...I am so stinkin excited!!! So it looks like we will be moving in the 2nd week of September! We went down to the house last night (I know shocking..right Cindy) :) and they were spraying the trim so I couldn't take any pics but our cabinets and counter tops are in and I have to say it looks beautiful!!! Brian and I just walk through in aww because we can't believe we are home owners..we never thought this day would come for us..we have worked very hard to get out of financial situation we were in! So now its back to packing!!:)

This year for the 4th of July we went to see Mike and Julie and the girls in Baltimore..Pam and Jeff (Brian's parents) went too..we had a great time! We went to Georgetown & D.C and to the Inner Harbor...and one night for dinner Mike and Julie treat us to Maryland crab..yummy! I had never eaten crab that way before!!

I can't believe I haven't blogged since February!! I am so BAD at this!! Well lets see what have I been doing ...I spent a lot of time going through things for the garage sale we had a few weeks ago (which went pretty well)..less stuff to move now!! Speaking of moving the house is coming along..they told us about 90 days to go to we have a house...:) I had a birthday in May..36..can't believe it!!! We have been to N.C and my parents have been up here a couple of times, went to Michigan for the Mega Meet with Cindy, Melissa and Tasha had a great time, been to the zoo and saw the baby elephant..one word "adorable"!!....see this is why I have to get better at this because there is too much to remember!! This passed weekend we were busy..Saturday we cookout and had some smores on the fire with our friends Jerry and The Fryman's...it was a lot of fun!! (too many margaritas though) :)...then Sunday I got up early and went with Cindy to ikea..had a blast, want one of everything in the store!!:) then when we got back Brian went over to help Don in they yard..Cindy and I watched in out lawn chairs...hehehe..we both hate yard work..then Cindy made us a VERY yummy dinner!!!:) Tonight Brian & I and Reese are going to Lowes to check on somethings for the new house and to the model of the house to take some measurements of some rooms!! fun fun!!:) Here are some pics of the house in progress and some random pics of Reesie:)

BIG NEWS!!! So this passed Sunday Brian and I were approved to build a home with MI!! I am so excited I can't stand it! For all that don't know this is..this is something we have been working very hard towards for the last 4 1/2 years. Right now we live in a house that is no bigger than a one bedroom large apartment..so things are tight if you can imagine! So either in August or September we will be calling 4706 Snowy Meadow drive our NEW home!!! :) More detail to come!! The picture above is our lot!

I have to admit that the other day I was going through her scrapbook (seeing what else I had to do in it) and when I came a crossed the hospital pages when she was born ..I started to cry!! I just can't believe she is turning one..time flies!! So this weekend I am going out and getting all the decoration and other stuff I need!! I am so glad that my parents are coming in on Wednesday..that way they can help me get ready for the party! I took next Friday off so I got make all the cupcakes and the food!

FIVE SHAVED HEADS!!!

So tomorrow is a big day for me and my salon...I am going to shave 5 of the partners heads from KPMG! My client works there and they made a bet with the partners that they would raise X amount of dollars for the united way and if they made it ...then the partners would get their heads shaved! Will I guess the partners thought they would never be able to do this...but guess what they did..and now its time to get shaved!! So now tomorrow I am going to shave their heads in front of 175 people and I will be on channel 4 news (either the 4-6p or the 11:oop news)!! I am very excited and also nervous..so keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Well we are back from visiting my Family in N.C..we had a great time!!! Here is what we did in a nut shell...we had Christmas w/ them, we went to Lake Lure (some place I could easily move to..it is so beautiful), We went to Boone, we did some shopping, went to Chucky Cheese's (Reesie's first time there..she loved it!!) and played Wii a lot!! I miss them a lot so it is always good when we get to spend time together!! So now I am sitting here looking at all these toys and things and feeling over whelmed not knowing what to do with ALL of it...and the only thing I can think about is that Reese's B-day party is around the corner!! Oh well I am sure I will think of some places to put all this stuff!!

Well today was very exciting for us... it was Reesie's first Christmas!! :) It was so cute watching her with all her presents!! I think she was very over whelmed! Brian got a new watch & clothes and some movies and small other small stuff...and I got my little blue box!!!:) Brian was very sneaky how he gave it to me..he wrapped it in a cricut jukebox box!! (a box his mom gave to him). I was so excited..in the box was my charm bracelet I have been wanting! The bracelet was from Reesie..so in graved on the heart charm was the word "MOM".. I can't wait to start adding more charms to it!! I also got the cricut expression (get ready Cindy to help me with it) and a G.C to Victory Secert!! Reesie got toys and toys and more toys and also some pretty outfits!! Sanders & Brutus and new bones,ball and a new baby! This was a great first Christmas with our little Family!! Then this evening we went to Beth's house for dinner... Mike & Julie and the girls got in town around 7:30p! We had a good time..it is always so cute to see Reese with Ana and Olivia..they have a good time playing together!! Tomorrow we are going over to The Hoover's (Brian parents house) for Christmas with them..we have to be there at 9:30a. Then hopefully around 2:00p we are going to leave to go to N.C to be with my family for the holidays..BUT..today we notice on the truck that we have this nice size crack in the window shield and we need to get it fix before we drive to N.C!! So hopefully we can get it done sometime in the morning or early afternoon..but if it looks like it going to be later in the day when it can be fixed we are going to leave at 6am on Saturday morning!! So lets keep our fingers crossed it gets done early tomorrow! I hope all of you had a great Christmas!!

Well this passed Saturday Jerry and I decided to make Christmas cookies..this has become a tradition with us for about the last 5 years..and in the last 5 years we have only screwed up 1 batch of cookies..until NOW!!! We decided to try out some new recipes... so we made all this dough..sugar, lemon and ginger bread...we doubled the recipe so we could split the cookies up. All the dough had to be refrigerated for a couple of hours...oh I forgot to mention that I got a new "Kitchen Aid Mixer" for an early Christmas present from my parents & Vivian (it is wonderful).. so with my new mixer we were flying through making the dough..we made sure all the ingredients were measured out right and put in..but something went terribly WRONG!! When it was time to roll out the lemon dough it was all crumbly and flaky!! So we thought.. OK we will just throw this in the trash..and try to make it again..we weren't sure what we had done wrong. So we decided to work on the sugar cookies..and wouldn't ya know the same thing had happen to this dough..so it ended up in the trash too!! At this point it had been about 4 hours since we had started making cookies...and all we had to show for it was 2 things of dough in the trash...I was so frustrated!!:( So we pulled out the gingerbread and crossed our fingers...FINALLY this dough was perfect!! So after 6 hours we had gingerbread man cookies...we decided to call it quits for the day and get together on Monday (we were both off work) and re-try making the other doughs again! So on Monday we were bound and determined to get these doughs right!! Well something we found out that we should not have used the first time was Crisco cooking sticks instead of butter...big NO NO in making cut out cookies. This time we used butter.... it was a success.. the cookies were awesome!! Then we try out these 2 other new cookie recipes..Brown sugar butter cookies & Cherry tea cookies! They turned out great..so now our confidence is re-stored in baking!! Thank God!!! We ran out of time on Monday so we got together on Tuesday after work and finished up on all the baking...and now on Thursday we are going to decorate the cut outs...what a job this has become!! I will post the finish decorated cookies and pics on Thursday!!

So we decided to take our family photo for our Christmas cards...well after it seems like 100 tries.. this is the best picture we got!! Its not bad but I wish that little miss Reese would have smiled. She probably would have if we had someone take the picture for us..we had to set the timer and do it ourselves. But of course right after we were done she was full of smiles..she is such a little stinker..oh well better lucky next year!! I have decided this year not to make my Christmas cards..this is probably the first time in about 10 years I haven't made them. I just don't have the time right now..so maybe next year!!

Wednesday night was girls night out!! There were 8 of us girls going to see the Rockette's but first we went to dinner at this place called Boston's..they are known for their pizza and I have to agree...very good pizza. Then it was time for the show! The Rockette's were amazing to see live..I have seen them in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade every year but to see them live...wow!! The show was great..Santa was the narrator. The Rockette's had many dress changes..their costumes were so beautiful! I really don't have a fav..because I loved all of it!! I would diffidently recommend to see the show if you haven't seen it before or if you have. see it again...I know I will!!

OK so I know it has been a very long time since I have blogged but I have been very very busy!! First of all my parents were here for a little over two weeks...we had a great time with them!!:) Reese loved spending time with Grandma & Grandpa..I am glad they were able to spend that time with Reese..I think it is very important!! On Thanksgiving we went to Brian's parents house & my parents went to Vivian's son's house..(Brian & I are very good about rotating Thanksgiving with the Families). We had a good time with the Hoover's..Mike & Julie and the girls came in town... and Beth & Ryan & Grandma Hoover and Grandpa White were there. We played Wii.. it was a lot of fun. The food was wonderful..turkey was nice and juicy!! I was suppose to bring a app and pumpkin pies..everybody said they were delicious.
Then the next day was "SHOPPING DAY"!! My Mom & I go out together and shop & have lunch..it is something we have done together for about the last 18 years..wow where does time go!! We had a lot of fun together..we got a lot accomplished (mostly for Reese) :)
Then later that night we meant Donna & Gary & Cindy & Don over at D&B for dinner and games..OH GOSH..I almost forgot to included my brother ( he came in the Tuesday before Thanksgiving & left Saturday after Thanksgiving). We had a lot of fun that night.
For the rest of the time my parents were here we kept pretty busy..visiting family & friends. It was nice because when Brian and I had to work my parents watched Reese. We also put up the Christmas trees (we have our big tree in the living room and the other is a Barbie tree in Reesie's room..I have been collecting Barbie ornaments since 1983) and decorated the rest of the house for Christmas. We had a very nice long visit with them..we will see them the day after Christmas..we are going down to their house for a little over a week to have Christmas with them!:)

Today I am cleaning the house and getting ready for my parents visit!! They are coming in town tomorrow sometime (not sure yet what time they will be getting here)..we are very excited though!! They will be here until December 1st..so it will be a nice long visit!
On a different note: Reesie is starting to crawl..she still does the army crawl but not has much! She is also saying Mama now..it is so cute..she has been saying Dada for awhile. She is growing up way to fast..I can't believe it!! Oh also another new thing she is doing is pulling herself up on things..she loves to hold onto our ottoman and play with her toys on it..it seems like something new everyday anymore!!

I woke up this morning to find snow on the ground and I have to say I was excited!! I love this time of year..its hard to believe that Thanksgiving is a week away and Christmas is around the corner!! I can't wait because it is Reesie's first Thanksgiving & Christmas! So at breakfast this morning I put on some Christmas music why we ate and Reese was dancing to it in her highchair it was so cute!! After breakfast I decided to get all my Christmas projects together that I need to work on. Lets just say I have a few to do (A lot!!) so I need to get cracking on them so they will be done before Christmas. Wish me luck!! :)

TOUGH TIMES!!

I can't believe how tough things are getting in the economy..I know things have been getting bad for sometime...but now its hit HOME!! This past Wednesday I was at work when I got a text from my brother saying "Dad just lost his job"...I immediately got sick to my stomach!! See.. now both of my parents have lost their jobs do to the economy...it sucks (no other word describes it)! My Mom has been without a job for about a year and half now..she has been trying like crazy to find something but is having trouble finding work..and now my Dad!! My Dad worked for MI Homes..and we were worried for him because the housing market sucks right now!! My parents moved to North Carolina because of my Dad's job..Columbus housing market started to go down about three years ago..so MI relocated my Dad to N.C...and NOW he has lost his job down there!! So I called my parents to get the full story & to see if they were ok! When my Mom answered the phone the only thing I could do was cry...so of course I made my mom cry..I asked if they were ok..and Mom said yes!! Then she put Dad on the phone and I start crying more...Dad told that everything was going to be ok..that he got a nice severance package! He said it was very hard on his boss to let him go and if things start picking up that my Dad will be the first person they call back! So lets hope that happens soon!!

Chinese,Bird Place &Crawling!!

Chinese: On Friday we were in the mood for Chinese..so we went to one of our favorite Chinese restaurants..Joey Changs. It's located in Mill Run..they have really good food at a reasonable price! Reesie had her first taste of it and love it!! She was so in ahh with our waitress...she is the same waitress we get every time we are there and what is really bad is that we don't know her name..we refer to her has "The Buckeye Lady". She loves the Buckeyes.... it is all she talks about..she is so cute!

Bird Place: On Saturday night we went to dinner with Cindy & Don and Zach (I think Mason was either with Barb or his Grandpa) we went to the "Bird Place"..for those of you that have no idea what the "Bird Place " is...it's "Red Robin". My Mom calls it that..she for got the name of it but she remembered that it is was named after a bird..so it has stuck with us and now we call it the "Bird Place." We had a really good time with the Daylong's..after dinner we all stopped at Kohl's..Cindy wanted to get new pillows..then we came back to our house and we had some of my delicious hot chocolate...I have a hot chocolate maker..I love it!! We ended up watching a movie called "Premonition"...Cindy & I liked it but I don't think the boys did (Zach was asleep in our bed for the whole movie..he has a hard staying up late)

Crawling: On Sunday we went to Brian's Parents house.. Brian was going to help his dad plant a new tree in the back yard ...it was to replace the one they lost in the wind storm. Pam & Reese and I were chilling in the living room talking about the holiday plans & gift ideas for certain people! When the guys were done with planting the tree.. they were ready for dinner..I guess they worked up an appetite. We had some beef stew that Pam had made. After dinner I was helping Pam clean up in the kitchen..Brain & Jeff and Reese were in the living room playing on the floor. All of a sudden Brian yield out "Come here and see what Reese is doing"...so we went into the living room to see what was going on...well Reese has now gone from stage one of trying to crawl to stage two " the army crawl"! She is really starting to become my BIG girl!

For those of you that don't know me very well...I am a freak about things not being organized & clean..and I am starting to feel very un-organized with my house!! We live in a very small house & we have done our best with trying to find places for our stuff... but now with Reese here it feels like the walls are caving in & the rooms are getting even smaller!! We are hoping that next year we can start looking for our own house to buy (we rent right now). But for now we have to make do with what we have! So when I start feeling this way I make a list of what I need to do in each room & then I start re-organizing..I do it by room by room! I want to try to have it all done before the Holidays..wish me luck!! I am the type of person that when I start to feel this way I can't do anything fun until things are ORGANIZED!! And I have a lot of Christmas projects... that are presents.. that I need to get done! The basement is going to be the BIGGEST organizing project of all..I am going to go through clothes & boxes and get rid of clothes that don't fit & things we don't need!! IT'S TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE :) !!!

Today when I was at work..my client stopped by and dropped off this adorable little chair that her little girl used to loved to sit & play in. When I brought it home I sat Reese in it ....she loved it!! The chair sings, lights up and talks...Reese was hitting the lamp that lights up and turning the pages in the book that talked. She looks like such a BIG girl in it!!!

Trick or Treat SURPRISE!!!

Well we decided to go somewhere a little different this year for Trick or Treat! How does North Carolina sound!! We decided to go down and surprise my Mom & Dad this past weekend..they could use a little cheering up and we thought what a better way to do that then a visit from their little Reesie. It has been almost 3 months since we all have seen each other and I think we all needed it!!! So here is how the plan went down: My Brother was in on it and help us, he got the information we needed.. he made sure Mom wasn't working at the book store or if they were going anywhere, which they had no plans. Until we showed up!! We were going to leave around 2:00 on Friday afternoon and hoping we would get down there around 9:00.. Their Trick or Treat was from 6-8pm so we knew we wouldn't be down there by then..we did very well on time though we got down there around 8:45p. We pulled into the pool parking lot(which is right down the street from my parents house) and got Reese dressed in her costume..then we drove up to my parents and parked the car so they wouldn't be able to see it. We put Reese on her bike in front of the door and then rang the door bell and we went and hid! When my mom opened the door an saw Reese on her bike her face expression was priceless! We pulled it off!!..they had know idea we were coming! We had a great short little visit with them..we were just staying until Sunday! On Saturday we got up and mom made breakfast for all of us and then we decided to hit the mall..we did a little damage there. After the mall we went back home and got dad (he wasn't feeling so hot so he stayed home why we went to the mall) to go get dinner at one of our favorite places to eat down there "Lancaster's"..they have the best deep fried pickles!! Reesie had her first taste of a deep fried pickle and loved it! She is a true southern bell now....she loves sweet tea and now deep fried pickles!! So after dinner we ran to Target (one of other favorite places!!) we needed to pick up a few things..then we went back home. Ryan had a Halloween party to go to.. he dressed up has a "dork" (not that he needs to dress up much hahahaha!! just kidding) the rest of us watched the Texas/Texas Tech game and played with Reese. After a busy day we decided to hit the sack!! The next day we were leaving but first we had some breakfast with Mom & Dad and Ryan..then we packed the car. Before we hit the rode we needed to do a little detour to the mall... I needed to run in and exchange a couple of the shirts that we bought Reese that didn't fit.. so we followed my parents to the mall and mom & I ran in real quick. After all that we were ready to get on the rode to head home..we said our goodbyes (it wasn't that much of a tear feast because we are going to see them at Thanksgiving..they are coming up). I am so glad we made that trip...it mite have been short but it was very sweet to see them!! I miss them so much!

Well we survived the "Windy City"!! We had such a great time...when we got to Chicago we checked into your hotel and then decided to hit Michigan Ave..that is where the shopping is!! To get downtown we decided to take the "L"... It was pretty interesting riding it!! Later on we meant Jerry's friend Amy out for dinner at the "rain forest cafe". It is such a cool place to eat with all the animals and the thunderstorm that happens every 15 minutes...its all fake of course!! The next day we decided to go back downtown and take a ferry ride and learn about all the different buildings..I have to say Chicago is a very beautiful city with all its big buildings and I think it is so neat that there is a river that runs through the city. After the tour we were all starving so we went to this pizza places called "Giordano's"("The Ellen Show" was there once when they were in town filming) the pizza was awesome!! With full belly's we decided to walk it off by shopping again but this time we went on State street... and I must say the shops that were there were definitely more in our price range. Then when we were finally shopped out it was time to go meet up with John and Benjamin (two of our friends that use to live in Columbus but now live in Chicago) we are staying with them for our remaining time in Chicago. When we got to there apartment we got settle in and then decided to go out for food and drinks!! We went to this place called "Hamburger Mary's"..they had great hamburgers and fries...they had this martini there called the "Dolly Parton" it was sooooo gooood!!! Then we went to a couple other little bars and after one to many martini's it was time to go home to bed!! The next morning you could say I wasn't feeling so hot ( not use to drinking I am a mother now...hahaha!!) So we all got ready and went to get something to eat and then we went to the Field Museum...what an awesome place that is.We saw "Sue" the largest fully put together T-Rex ever found..her skull that is on the body is just a casting the real skull is in a case that is there. The reason it is not her body is because the skull it self weighs over 600 pounds and if they would put it on the body it would topple over..we saw a lot of other interesting things too!! But then it was time to leave to go get ready for Madonna!!! I can't wait ...so we went back and got ready and then went and got something to eat...and then it was time!!! When we got there I got my program and my T-shirt and we went to our seats....then it went dark....it was time!! The concert was amazing!! She looked and sounded great!! It was probably my favorite concert of hers that I have seen!! When we got home I went right to bed I was pooped! The next day it was time to go back home...I am so excited to see Reese & Brian and the boys...I missed them a lot!!
Why I was gone Reese and Brian had a busy weekend too...Saturday night Brian went to the OSU game...it was a night game..they played Penn State. They lost but not by much. Why Brian was at the game Reese stayed with Mimi (Pam) she had a good time! The next morning Brian went over to Don & Cindy's to help put in a garage door..when he was done he went and got Reese.
When I got home we were all so excited to see each other..why I was gone Reese started doing some new babble sounds..it is so cute! We decided to go get something to eat and the go visit Vivian in the nursing home..she had surgery again on her hip. She is doing great!! Then we came home and called it a night..we were all exhausted!!

OK..........so I am giving this blog thing a try...we all know just how much I am a whiz on the computer :) !! So we will see if I can manage this.. Well I am so excited about this weekend..I am leaving to go to Chicago to see the MADONNA Concert with Michael & Jerry!! We are leaving at 6am on Saturday..so we should be in Chicago around noon or so. Why we are there we are going to do some shopping on Michigan Ave. and go to the Field Museum...and then the Concert on Monday night!! We will becoming home on Tuesday. It will be very hard leaving my little Reese for those days...but I know she will be in good hands!!
